Siri and Alexa cater to different user needs. Siri is ideal for those invested in the Apple ecosystem, offering seamless integration with iPhones, iPads, and Macs, but its third-party support and smart home compatibility are limited. Alexa is better for smart home automation and works with a vast range of devices, offering robust third-party integrations and features. While Alexa excels in functionality, Siri prioritizes user privacy and security, making your choice dependent on your ecosystem and priorities.

Both are good in terms of their use. But if i have to choose one of them then, I think I’ll vote for Alexa.
Here are some features of Alexa which makes it better than Siri.
Always on (plugged in, stationary location, non-user specific detection of wake-word).
Shopping centric secondary use case, Family.
Home-centric use cases including built-in home-entertainment playback (decent speaker array) and control (Amazon Fire TV, etc.).
7 microphone array with far-field DSP/focused listening, background noise cancellation, “listen while playing” technology, etc..
Starting point for an “open” conversational-speech service that will run on non-Amazon hardware.
Relatively open integration API, including major focus on smart-home / connected-home (unlike Apple’s “Home Kit” which is significantly burdened with restrictions).
